When Is iOS 27.2 Coming Out?

Apple hasn’t announced a date yet. Apple said Siri AI’s new languages would arrive in October, and those are part of iOS 27.2, so an October release is very likely. 9to5Mac expects the week of October 26, and MacRumors expects it shortly after iPhone Duo goes on sale on October 23.

Apple released the third iOS 27.2 developer beta on October 5. Updates usually reach the public a week or two after the final beta and release candidate. We’ll update this page within 24 hours of the release.

These are the features in the iOS 27.2 betas so far. Features can still change or be held back before the public release.

Some changes are less visible. Like most point updates, iOS 27.2 should also include bug fixes and security updates. Apple lists those in its release notes on launch day.

Why Your iPhone Gets iOS 27.2, Not iOS 27.1

Apple usually releases updates in order, but not this time. iOS 27.1 adds features for the new foldable iPhone Duo, and it comes preinstalled on that phone. Should You Update to iOS 27.2?

For most people, yes, but there’s no need to rush on day one. Our usual advice:

• Install within a few days if you want the new features or you’re having a problem that iOS 27.0.1 didn’t fix.
• Wait a week if you rely on your iPhone for work and everything is working fine. Early reports will show whether 27.2 has any serious bugs.
• Check your key apps first if you depend on a banking, work or accessibility app. Their developers sometimes need a few days to catch up.
• Don’t expect to downgrade. Once Apple stops signing the older version, you can’t go back.

How to Prepare Your iPhone for iOS 27.2

1. Back up to iCloud or a computer.
2. Free up at least 6–8 GB of storage. See iPhone storage full if you’re short on space.
3. Charge to 50% or more, or stay plugged in during the update.
4. Update your apps in the App Store first.
5. Use Wi-Fi. Cellular downloads may be limited depending on your settings.
